“Anarcho-Technocracy: the Politics of Things” is a 1953 essay by Harry Hooton. Hooton was previously a syndicalist and a member of the International Workers of the World (IWW). In the 20,000 word text he theorizes the use of anarchism’s direct action onto things. He envisions an anarchist social arrangement for humans but a government over tools where technocrats administer maintenance and oversee production.
